About the Role
As a Testing Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of customer's emergency communication systems.
This role involves repetitive testing of devices using defined procedures, documenting results, and identifying any issues for further review. You will work closely with QA and production teams to ensure devices meet quality standards prior to deployment.
Success in this role requires consistency, accuracy, and the ability to follow established processes while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform functional testing of Company Emergency Communication Devices (ECD), including:
· Blue Light Towers (BLT)
· Blue Light E-Phones (BLEP)
· Callboxes (CB)
· Retrofit Kits (RK)
· Faceplates (F/P)
· Execute standard test procedures and checklists, including:
· Verifying call initiation and connection to programmed phone numbers
· Checking audio clarity (speaker and microphone performance)
· Confirming correct firmware versions
· Verifying device connectivity and check-in with the KEMS portal
· Perform repetitive, high-volume testing with consistency and accuracy
· Document test results, pass/fail status, and any observed issues in internal systems
· Flag and communicate issues to QA or engineering for further investigation
· Assist with basic troubleshooting following established guidelines
· Support setup and configuration of devices for testing
· Maintain an organized and safe testing workspace
Required Qualifications
· Associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Computer Systems, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
· 1-2 years of experience in:
· Hardware testing
· Electronics assembly
· Device validation or similar hands-on technical work
· Basic understanding of:
· Electronic devices or systems
· Using software tools/interfaces for testing
· Ability to follow detailed test procedures and maintain accurate records
· Strong attention to detail and consistency in repetitive tasks
· Basic troubleshooting skills
· Comfortable working with both hardware devices and simple software tools
